The Shelley School of Irish Dance operates under the direction of Tina Shelley, T.C.R.G (Certified Irish Step Dance Instructor by the Commission of Irish Dance in Dublin, Ireland.) Tina Shelley studied since the age of 6 with the Deely School of Irish Dance in Northern California. By the age of 10, she was competing on a championship level and placed in the top three at the Western Regional Championships for 4 years, which qualified her to compete at the World Championships. Tina moved on to compete at the North American Championships (Nationals) where she placed in the top tier. Since becoming a cerified teacher, Tina has trained some of the top championship Irish dancers in Utah to reach recognition on a regional, national, and world level. In addition to years of Irish step dance, Tina studied extensively under the Royal Academy method of ballet up to the pre-professional level.

Tina has been a featured soloist with the Brigham Young University Folkdance Ensemble which travels worldwide and has choreographed several pieces for their repertoire while serving as a faculty member in the BYU Dance Department. It was at BYU where Tina developed the Irish dance program and taught from 1994 to 2003. Tina graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Dance Theater and has performed with the Young Ambassadors in China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Midwest of the United States.

In addition to running the Shelley School of Irish Dance, Tina was the co-Artistic Director for Rhythm of Ireland Dance Company. Other credits include choreography for the TV Disney movie "The Luck of the Irish" (which aired March 2001), choreography for Utah's professional dance company "Odyssey", and guest teaching at the North American Celtic Arts Festival 2000. Tina is in good standing with the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America and the Western Region.
