O'Connor School of Irish Dancing
From IrishDanceWiki
From their web site:
- The O'Connor School of Irish Dancing was founded in 1977 by Mary Grantham (nee O'Connor). Mary started dancing at the age of 7 and had the privilege of being taught by several great teachers. She went on to win 5 State Championships and traveled to Ireland in 1976 to compete in the World Irish Dancing Championships. Mary retired from competing in 1977 to take up teaching and successfully passed her teacher's exam with the Irish Dancing Commission in September of that year.
- The dancing school began to grow and saw great success producing both State and Australian Champions. In 1991 Mary passed her adjudicator's exam and has judged locally, interstate and internationally. She is a Life Member of the Australian Irish Dancing Association (A.I.D.A), and is a registed teacher and adjudicator with the Irish Dancing Commission.
